Technical Overview

The pulse counter can be programmed in the Atmel processor in C. Tailor-made customer applications can be provided by Bausch Datacom if necessary. The stored cumulative pulse counting can be communicated through FTP over the GPRS network or by SMS messages.

As all Bausch Datacom modems & RTU’s, the InduBox GSM Pulse is equipped with a hardware Watchdog reset.

In order to keep accurate time, the firmware uses SNTP to obtain the correct time to be used in timestamps for statistics and transferred files.
Tailored made firmware can be implemented to convert the InduBox GSM Pulse into a simple SMS alarming device!

The InduBox GSM Pulse is part of our proven InduBox family, typically conceived for energy usages. Meter reading for electricity, gas or ‘green energy’ applications  such as solar panel or windmill electricity production are especially domains where the pulse counter can be implemented.

Firmware:

Specific pulse counting applications are to be defined with each customer case by case.

Example of  ‘solar panel application’

° Pulse counting: Pulses are counted and totals are kept for each period of X minutes during X hours.  A cumulative count is kept for at most X years. Please note that the input frequency can be different in each particular application!

° Messaging: Once every X hours, a message is sent which contains the following information: total cumulative pulse count at the start of that X hour period, totals for X periods of X minutes during that X hour period. Information about the counters is provided, such as date and time, ...

° SMS message in PDU format or CSV file delivered via FTP
